Fancy a sneak peek into our bathrooms and our makeup bags? The products we simply can’t live without are;

Revlon UniqOne Hair Treatment – Charlotte

I discovered this recently, and it’s a lifesaver. It’s rare to find a detangling spray that isn’t marketed at four year olds, so I was relieved when I could remove the Frozen-themed bottle from my dressing table. Just a few sprays is enough to easily get a comb through my very thick, bleached hair (*frizzy*), and it protects against heat damage too. I get it from my hairdresser for around £10 per bottle, and the coconut one is my fave.

bareMinerals Frame & Define Brow Styler – Charlotte

I remember when I was 16, and my eyebrows were thick and dark, barely controllable with a humble pair of tweezers. Well, I hate to break it to you young people, but at some point THEY STOP GROWING BACK!!! Be careful when you tweeze each brow hair – it just might be your last chance to find the perfect shape. Or….buy one of these, colour them in, and stop worrying about it. Best to do short hair-like strokes unless you want to end up looking like a drag queen.

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow – Charlotte

I love a bit of sparkle (shoes, nails, handbags – all fair game), and nothing says night out quite as much as a sparkly eye shadow. The problem is, most of the ones that look fantastically sparkly in the shops don’t actually have a great success rate at transferring that sparkle to your eye lids. This stuff actually works. Apply it with your fingertip rather than a brush, and you’ll be blingier than the window of Cartier in just a few seconds.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish – Charlotte (& Hannah)

I like to try other facewash products, but I always seem to come back to this one. My skin is super sensitive, and some products leave my skin feeling tight and sore, but this has never reacted badly on my face. It has a creamy texture that feels great, it smells lovely, and it takes my make up off, which is fab for me because I’m VERY lazy with my skin care routine. Some people even like to claim that I decorated my bathroom to match but I have no idea what they mean…

Nip + Fab Glycolic Cleansing Fix – Hannah

Having reached the ripe old age of 26 I thought that the days of acne prone skin would be behind me but sometimes my skin has other plans. When I can feel a bout of spotty skin coming on I always reach for this and it helps me get rid of the unsightly little things that bit quicker. It also comes in daily cleansing pads which are great when you can’t quite bring yourself to go through the whole face washing malarkey!

Quickies Nail Varnish Remover Pads – Hannah

I don’t know what it is about nail varnish but somehow having nice nails makes me feel like I have got my life together. I can be having a super stressful day but nice nails make me feel that little bit more confident that I can actually get everything done. Unfortunately my nails often don’t like to play ball, I was a nail biter as a child and now they are really soft. This means that they bend really easily, chipping even the hardiest of nail varnishes. As a result I am often found redoing a nail or 10 and these pads make it so much easier! No annoying fluff from the cotton wool pad in your nail, or worrying about knocking over a bottle of nail varnish remover (don’t even go there) and the vitamin oil leaves my nails feeling nourished rather than dried out like some other nail varnish removers.

Bobbie Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Hannah

My love of black eyeliner started pretty much as soon as I could get my hands on makeup and as you can probably guess I had my fair share of panda eye incidents in my teens that I am hoping you can relate to (I will continue to convince myself it wasn’t just me!). As I have got older I haven’t been able to kick my eyeliner habit but I have fallen in love with gel eyeliners, in particular this one. You apply it with a brush meaning your eyeliner can be as thick as your heart desires and it stays put all day. If I was only allowed to use one item of makeup for the rest of time, this would be it!

Sensai Silk Peeling Powder – Tanya

I only bought this a week ago but it’s already one of my favourite beauty products! It is an exfoliator but it comes in a powder form, which is like nothing I had ever used before. You put some of the powder into your palm with some water and mix it together to make a fine paste, rubbing it over your face. After I use it my skin feels smooth and luminous, something that I am always in search of, aren’t we all?

Kanebo Sensai Loose Powder – Tanya

Ok, I could be a little in love with Sensai Cosmetics and this is my second favourite product. A busy day at work and running around after my boys in the evening really puts this powder to the test and somehow it manages to stay put, I couldn’t be without it!

High Impact Clinique Mascara – Tanya

I have very sensitive eyes and so for a while I had to forgo mascara because all the brands I tried seemed to cause my eyes to stream with tears or go an attractive red colour, not quite the look I was going for when I put my makeup on that morning! A friend recommended this to me and I haven’t looked back since. Now I have absolutely no irritation and I just love it!
